We asked a number of Livefootball contributors and visitors to predict the outcome of Euro 2008. Here is a summary of the predictions.

Before compiling all the predictions, some of them featured on the Euro 2008 Livefootball site, Kai Crawshaw, who has written about a number of the sides competing in the Euro 2008 finals for livefootball, submitted his considerations. His predictions for Euro glory, following the first game encounters are as follows:

Winners - Portugal (they have the easiest route to the final of the so called favourites)

Top Goalscorer - van Nistelrooy (the 'offside' goal will be the easiest he scores all year)

Player of the Tournament - Wesley Sneijder

The poll, now complete, of other Livefootball contributors is summarised below

Tournament Winners:

Most popular prediction is that Germany will lift the trophy

41% of contributors and readers predicting this.

Italy were the second most predicted wiiners.

Top Goalscorers:

Liverpool and Spain striker Torres received nearly 50% of the predictions to become the tournaments top scorer – he’s got a few to catch up on team mate Villa now!
