Two quick-fire goals from Jon Stead were enough to bag all three points at Oakwell, with Barnsley pulling a goal back through Daniel Bogdanovic early in the second half. Paul Bloomfield reports.

Jon Stead gave Ipswich the lead in the 8th minute, firing a low shot from 12 yards underneath Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller.

Just two minutes later, Stead took advantage of a defensive mix up from the home side and bundled the ball home to double Town’s advantage.

Daniel Bogdanovic netted two minutes into the second half for Barnsley, but Town held on for the win.
