Ipswich came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena. Paul Bloomfield reports.

Clinton Morrison gave the home side the lead after just 35 seconds, making for a nightmare start for the Blues. Morrison was supplied with a ball over the top and the striker found the net despite the attentions of Town’s central defensive duo of Gareth McAuley and Richard Naylor.

Ipswich drew level 10 minutes later through Kevin Lisbie after he latched onto Jon Stead’s flick-on. Lisbie showed neat touch and control, holding off a couple of challenges before firing the ball into the net.

Coventry regained the lead through ex-Southend United front man Freddy Eastwood. Richard Naylor appeared to be fouled by the goalscorer as they gave chase to the ball, but Eastwood was allowed to run through on goal and put the ball past Richard Wright.

It once again took just 10 minutes after going behind for Town to draw level. Michael Mifsud was guilty of under-hitting a back-pass to his keeper and the speedy Lisbie took full advantage of the opportunity, running through and lofting the ball over Coventry City goalkeeper Kieran Westwood.

Ipswich had chances to win the game in the closing minutes, with Kevin Lisbie coming very close to completing his hat-trick, but Aron Gunnarsson was on hand to clear his header off the line.

A 2-2 draw is how it finished, and was a game that either side could have won. Given the fact that Town were twice behind, Ipswich are likely to be the more contented of the two sides.
