Kai Crawshaw picks a player from each of the Euro 08 Quarter Finalists and assesses the impact they could have on the remainder of the tournament.

Andrei Arshavin: - Russia

Took little time in announcing his arrival at this year’s Championships. Excellent performance against Sweden took his team into the knock-out stages. Another good performance might just cause a big upset. Holland should be wary.

Wesley Sneijder - Netherlands

Phenomenal so far this year, will need to maintain that form if the Netherlands hope to proceed. Will need to show he has a physical side to his game against Russia. Contender for goal of the tournament, with screamer against France.

David Villa - Spain

His performance against Russia was breathtaking, not quite as impressive against Sweden, but still managed to add to his goal tally. Italy will represent his hardest test so far, and he may have to be prepared to see very little of the ball.

Gianluigi Buffon - Italy

Penalty save enabled Italy to enter final group game with a chance of progressing. Will need to maintain good form, especially against the Spanish front line. Could be the busiest member of the Italian team.

Cristiano Ronaldo - Portugal

Showed he credentials at the highest level, both as an individual and as a team player. Seems to be showing no signs of fatigue after a long season, will look to breach the suspect backline of Germany.

Michael Ballack - Germany

Has been on the losing side on too many occasions against Ronaldo and will not want a repeat performance for national side. Which Ballack will turn up? The one who shone against Austria or the one who faded away against Croatia?

Nihat - Turkey

Two excellent goals helped Turkey progress unexpectedly into the knock-out rounds. Surely lightening cannot strike twice?

Luka Modric - Croatia

Spurs fans must be rubbing their hands in delight at the thought of seeing Modric in action. Has so far been the best player for the impressive Croat team, will surely lead them to a semi-final? Another good performance should be enough.
