The First Round Proper of the FA Cup 2008/09 commenced on Friday evening 7th November and the first ties were completed during the weekend with the results as follows: The First Qualifying Round for the FA Cup 2008/09 will commence on the weekend of 13th September and will introduce teams playing at Level 7 of Football League Pyramid (Also known as NLS Step 3) for the first time this season. This year the FA Cup prize fund has grown significantly, a total of over £16million to be paid out, compared to a prize fund of around £10million last season. Winning the competition results in a £2million prize compared to a £1million last season.
